011 PROTECTION CLASS IP IK Protection classes indicate which safety measures a device has installed to prevent electric shocks. There are three protection classes which are represented by the symbols below. The abbreviation IP stands for Ingress Protection. The first digit in these standardised IP codes indicates the protection against solid objects, the second digit indicates protection against moisture. The IK protection class is a classification of building materials and surfaces that determines how resistant they are to mechanical impact such as blows, collisions or pressure. HALF BEAM ANGLE UGR SMART LIGHTING The half beam angle describes the light emission taking the composition of the luminaire, lamp and distance from an object into account. The smaller the half beam angle, the narrower the beam of light. UGR (Unified Glare Rating) rates the glare of a luminaire to relieve the eye. The lower the UGR value, the more pleasant the light is to the eye. A UGR<19 is therefore recommended for workplaces. Smart Lighting describes automated light management. With DALI, ZIGBEE, Casambi and BLUETOOTH, smart luminaires can be controlled via apps and other controls.
